Andrew's 9th Birthday BOWL-O-RAMA

For Andrew's 9th birthday he asked for a bowling party. I looked around for a smaller bowling alley and found the perfect one in a nearby town. We were able to rent out all of Set Em Up Lanes which included 8 lanes, 2 pool tables, juke box and plenty of counter and table space for Andrew and 17 of his buddies. It also was a little on the retro side which fit my theme just right! We had bowling alley grub and of course a dessert table. The boys really enjoyed taking over all of the lanes for a day!

A HUGE Thank you to Maggie Russo for taking all of the photos and my sister for making the awesome cookies and bowling ball cake pops.

Find this party invite and set in my shop www.homespunhostess.com

PONY PARTY celebrating Annabelle's 5th Birthday

Time is flying by and my baby girl is already FIVE! We celebrated her birthday and her love of horses with a pony party. She and her friends enjoyed a sweet outdoor country picnic and pony rides. As always, I am thankful that I had Maggie Russo there to capture every sweet moment and party detail and my wonderful sister baked the amazing cake and cookies!

We started out with a country picnic lunch for all of the little girls in sweet picnic baskets complete with a horse "happy meal" toy. I made up custom stickers and packaged southern chicken biscuits and then had little containers of fruit along with juice to go with it. The lunch was light because the dessert was not!

And then on to dessert! I was lucky that Annabelle had a couple of American girl horses because they made perfect decor. I made them some prize ribbons and they were right at home. I found a couple of great vintage horse trophies to complete the look.

This gorgeous cake was made by my sister. The inside was pink ombre. The outside had stripes of ruffles with a full ruffle top. I topped it with a sweet spotted pony (Annabelle's favorite) and a birthday sign.

I made chocolate horse pops and Derby Pie in mini mason Jars (or course we can't call it that so I went with Kentucky Pie)

Of course the main event was the pony rides! The girls enjoyed feeding apples to the ponies and taking rides around the park.

The pinata came in close second though! Who knew tootsie rolls could be this exciting?!

And last we played Pin the Tail on the Pony for mini trophy cups.

My little Annabelle had her dream come true when she got some one on one time with Rocket the Pony!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SWEET ANNABELLE!

You can find the invite in my shop here!

Thanks for stopping by!

Gingerbread Decorating Party

This week I hosted a small gingerbread decorating party for my sweet 4 year old, Annabelle, and 5 of her preschool buddies! I am sad to say that it was planned too last minute to ask Maggie Russo Photo to come take fabulous photos....and my photos are not even close to her gorgeous professional quality that we are used to! BUT....it was such a FUN FUN day I had to share! These 6 cute little girls had tons of fun creating colorful and whimsical gingerbread houses, eating goodies, listening to the story of the Gingerbread Man and having lunch together. It was really a great time!

I bought inexpensive aprons and had each girls name embroidered on and then just embellished with whimsical trims. They looked ADORABLE in them and it was a nice little keepsake for them to take home.

I purchased prebuilt gingerbread houses from Target so that each girl could get right to work decorating the houses and having fun....at this age (or any age) it is no fun trying to get the houses set up. I filled up baking cups with an assortment of candy and bought mini squeeze bottles from think garnish. The wrapper is included in my printable set and could be adapted to larger bottles.

And of course there were a few desserts.....I made cupcakes with gingerbread peeps on top and my awesome sister made fabulous gingerbread men and houses and also peppermint brownie pops.  YUM!

And of course there must be milk to wash it down!

During story time we set up a little boxed lunch for the girls.

Some of the cuteness......

How sweet are these girls?!

This whole printable set (or just the invitation) is now available in my shop! It is a great excuse to gather a few buddies for the holidays!
